So a few weeks ago I was lucky\u00a0to get the opportunity to travel to Dubai through my work and let me tell you that place is an experience. The first thing that hits you is the heat because even though it was November the temperatures were reaching\u00a030C+ and I’m told people from UAE actually go on holiday in the summer months\u00a0because of the\u00a0unbearable heat in their home country. Apart from that it’s the little differences that really stood\u00a0out for me, for example everything in Dubai is done in taxis\/personal cars, don’t think you can simply take a walk whenever\u00a0the mood takes you. Money and status is a big part of their culture and it’s not uncommon for people to ask what you do for a living before they’ve asked you your name.<\/p>\n

We managed to visit a few interesting places such as the Dubai Mall (separate post on that tomorrow), enjoy\u00a0some Lebanese street food and have drinks in the tallest hotel in the world (JW Marriott Marquis) in a bar called The Vault. On our last day we paid a visit to the Madinat Jumeirah which\u00a0the largest resort in the emirate, spreading across over 40 hectares of landscapes and gardens and it literally took an entire evening to explore.<\/p>\n
