You may remember last week I published a little lookbook post<\/a>\u00a0that I shot\u00a0around Embankment with Adam from\u00a0Male Stylist<\/a>.\u00a0Well we kept exploring and ventured north of the river to be surrounded by the historic buildings of Great Scotland Yard. Whitehall Palace and Old War Office Building are my particular favourites as they’re steeped in history that can be traced as far back as 800AD.\u00a0Seemed a shame to waste such a glorious location.<\/p>\n

Although Whitehall Place was severely damaged\u00a0by the great fire of London in 1698, the area continued to be known as Scotland Yard. In time the head quarters for the Metropolitan Police Service adopted the name and this association has made ‘Scotland Yard’ world famous. It was surprising how quiet and relatively desolate these streets were considering they’re just a stones throw away from Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden.<\/p>\n

Very few people tend to look up and in doing so miss out on so many hidden parts of a city. Interest in architecture and building design is again slowly gaining traction so if you ever find yourself in the area with a few minutes to spare I urge you to take off your headphones and just explore.<\/p>\n
