As a lover of architecture the diversity of buildings in Brighton continues to surprise. The\u00a0area&#8217;s settlements first developed as fishing villages which means you get to see buildings\u00a0and materials rarely seen elsewhere.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sc-separator href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Classical_architecture\">Classical-style details<\/a> are seen on many 19th-century houses, especially those built in the\u00a0Regency era although special mention must be given to the Royal Pavilion which dominates the view with it&#8217;s domes and minarets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Pavilion\u00a0is built in the Indo-Saracenic style prevalent in India for most of the 19th century.\u00a0It&#8217;s\u00a0the brainchild\u00a0of architect John Nash, who extended the building starting in 1815 and is a prime example of\u00a0exoticism that was an alternative to the classic\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Regency style\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Regency_style\">Regency style<\/a>\u00a0that dominated the UK architecture scene\u00a0during the period in the early 19th century when George IV was Prince Regent.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"sc-separator type-thin\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"sc-columns half clearfix\">\n<div class=\"col\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Flexing the old creative muscle it would be a shame if I didn&#8217;t grab a few street style shots during the fleeting visit to the beach. Thinking about it now, I really should get myself a cape.
