The Leeds RAG Fashion Show is a prestigious charity event and one of the most highly anticipated events of the Leeds University Union (LUU) social calendar. RAG (Raising & Giving) is the largest student society in Leeds which was founded back in 1929. Last year they managed to raise over £295,000 and are looking to better this figure in 2014. This year, they are supporting two charities – SUDEP and SARSVL. SUDEP is a charity working towards preventing deaths from epilepsy through raising awareness and promoting research whilst SARSVL stands for Support after Rape and Sexual Violence and is a local support service with a free and confidential helpline and a rape crisis centre in Leeds.

This year the show is drawing inspiration from exploratory travel, natural landscapes and exotic environments and creatively adapting those themes and bringing them to the catwalk. There will be a number of high profile sponsors within the show this year and it will also incorporate elements of new, young designers as well as established brands and designers such as ASOS and Masato Jones (You can check out my interview with him HERE).

I cannot wait for next Thursday, I’ve heard so much about the previous RAG fashion shows and the money they raise for charities so it will be an amazing experience and a chance to raise the profile of fashion shows in the north of the UK. If you’re in Leeds on the 27th of February grab yourself a ticket and be a part of something great.
