New Faces 09

I've been working on some big things recently but it's always beneficial to dedicate time to passion projects. During my travels and random wanders I come across many interesting characters. Some I never see again and some become lifelong friends. All are equally valuable in my learning about the world and seeing it from a new perspective. We're all just a million masks of god but can only experience this existence one at a time. I love using these posts as a little time machine, a reminder of the journey so far and the road ahead, yet undiscovered. Who knows, maybe our paths will cross in the future and you'll get a huge lens pointed in your face. Just remember that life is a dance, it's more enjoyable when you don't take it too seriously.

New Faces 06 // Journal 90

We're all stumbling our way through life. Many of us put up a tough exterior to deal with things but in reality I don't think anyone has a clue as to what's going on. Some are just hiding it better than others. This is why I love my impromptu portrait sessions as walking around for a few hours lets me know more about a person than any Instagram account ever could. Here's a collection of snaps I collected over the last few months that didn't make the New Faces 05 cut:

The key to taking good portraits is ensuring your subject is relaxed and at ease in front of camera. Anxiousness and self doubt will always show so remember, it's just a picture! Here are some more snaps I took with some friends during the summer. Make sure to DM me on Instagram if you ever want to shoot together ✌️

New Faces 04 // Journal 74

When people ask me what I do for a living I sometimes tend to answer 'I shoot people', just to see the looks on their bemused faces. Although technically true it's a very small part of what I do but it gets me out of the house and keeps those itchy fingers busy. Shooting friends or models is very different to shooting street style as you have a lot more time to prepare and pick the right outfit / location to suit your needs. Here are some I shot in 2016, hope you enjoy:

New Faces 03 // Journal 61

Reckon I'm going to become a hoarder in my older years as I can't seem to throw anything away. I feel that every photo and screenshot I take needs it's own special folder as it's bound to come in use eventually. What actually happens is that I live perpetually in the past, editing photos and videos taken many moons ago. What I decided is that August is going to be my 'clean out' month. You'll see lots of posts that may not reach my self imposed high standard but I need to clear some headspace.

Style Division New Faces

The latest 'New Faces' post went down a treat so I started looking through my drive to see what other snaps I've taken since then. A fair whack of them was basically me helping take some polaroids for Cesar at Unsigned so they're not the finished products but hey, gotta practice, practice, practice!

New Faces 02 // Journal 47

In my early photography days I played it safe, taking pictures of buildings and landscapes and simply honing my skills. Over the last few months however I picked up a Canon 7D and a Sigma lens to take some interesting pictures during LCM and LFW for Fucking Young Mag. After that trial by fire I became a lot more relaxed about approaching people I've never met on the street and asking for a photo.

During my time at Unsigned I also got the opportunity to take a few test shots with their models Josh Bartley, Max Rendell, Sven de Vries, Diego Barrueco and Jasmin Clarke. The gorgeous setting of Princelet Street and the Unsigned townhouse itself really enhanced the look and feel of the shots. Make sure to visit the Unsigned models page for more.
