Creative DVSN Collection 11

It's been over a year since my last Creative Collection and its fair to say my tastes have changed somewhat. Because it takes a silly amount of time to put these posts together I will aim to keep them light and more regular from now on. Take a look at some of the things that caught my eye recently as well as some super talented creatives you can follow on Instagram. By far my favourite find has been Benjamin Hardman's photography (cover above). He makes Iceland look like a completely different planet.

Directed by Romain Gavras, the filmmaker behind M.I.A.'s "Born Free" and "Bad Girls" videos, "Gosh" travels to the Chinese city of Tianducheng, a nearly uninhabited complex built to impersonate Paris, right down to its replica Eiffel Tower.

Creative Inspiration 10

The return of my Visual Inspiration Collections is upon us and I've been saving up a trove of delightful visuals and images to impress you with. Being a huge digital hoarder I thought it was time to put another collection together seeing as the last one was waaaaay back in October.

CAUGHT MY EYE - PHOTOGRAPHY

Slow Magic has become one of my favourite artists recently with a sound that's a perfect mix of upbeat SBTRKT and downtempo Teen Daze. The promo shots from his single 'Girls' caught my attention and now all I want to do is play around with my camera and huge clouds of pink smoke.

Cereal Magazine continues to raise the bar and shows what really can be done with a mag these days. In one of my favourite posts this year, Rich Stapleton travels around Iceland and manages to capture the clean and simple beauty of the place.

Mike Skinner remains one of my personal heroes and inspirations. From humble beginnings with The Streets and running The Beats label with Ted Mayhem, Mike is now producing music, making films and running Tonga, a fantastic pub rave night in London. Mike Skinner....so remains one of my favourite blogs to follow and a constant source of inspiration

CAUGHT MY EYE - ART & DESIGN

A new mural in Gaza by the anonymous artist Banksy features a kitten seeming to play with a ball of tangled metal rods as if it were yarn.

Sammy Slabbinck is one of my favourite illustrators. He creates collages with deep meaning and simple juxtapositions. A few more of his pieces have been shown below.

There is always an abundance of beautiful architecture and design out there but the recent renovation of an old Victorian paper factory in Hampshire, Laverstoke Mill takes the cake. Architects Joseph Paxton and Thomas Heatherwick redesigned the pair of curved glass greenhouses that are now used for growing the tropical and Mediterranean plants for the Bombay Sapphire gin. The latest collection of art and design pieces I've found on the web. One of the best finds is the Ben Sack video below, this dude paints huge canvases of cities by hand and his attention to even the smallest details is astounding. Actually reminds me of an artist called Stephen Wiltshire who painted an 18ft long canvas of the NYC skyline icord.org/soma-carisoprodol/ from memory after seeing it once (LINK). Incredible stuff.

Creative Inspiration 07

Hey guys, apologies for lack of content these last few weeks but there has been a few things happening in the background of Style Division that I'm very happy about and hopefully all will be revealed in due time. The site has gone a slight structure alteration so the focus will be on mens style, trends and collections as well as lifestyle, photography and technology. I'm in the process of acquiring a new camera for lookbook and street/blog photography so if anyone has any recommendations please give me a shout below. So far the front runner is the Fujifilm X-Series although being the impulsive man that I am this can all change at the last minute.

So onto the collection itself, I have been experimenting with collections on Style Division for a few months now and I think regular menswear, photography and visual collections should be showcased. I'm a little bit addicted to Instagram and although my photos are all taken on an iPhone 4S there is a huge wealth of talent in the IGsphere which I wish to share with you here.
