Shoreditch With Bailey Nelson London // Lookbook 24

I received a lot of attention after my previous OOTD post went live so I decided to add to it with some additional images Joey London and I shot on location in Shoreditch. Just a stones throw away from Princelet Street is Christ Church Spitalfields, an Anglican church built between 1714 and 1729 to a design by Nicholas Hawksmoor. It's one of the first buildings in London I hold close to my heart for personal reasons so I decided to give it a feature:

Christ Church Spitalfields

An Act of Parliament in 1711 established the Commission for Building Fifty New Churches to serve London's new settlements and Christ Church Spitalfields was the first to be built.

The Commissioners for the new churches included Christopher Wren (the architect behind the famous St Pauls Cathedral), Thomas Archer and John Vanbrugh appointed two surveyors, one of whom was Nicholas Hawksmoor. Generic priligy best price at http://howmed.net/priligy-dapoxetine/ guaranteed. Only twelve of the planned fifty churches were built, of which six were designed by Hawksmoor.

Still wearing my perfectly fitting specs from Bailey Nelson, Joey and I decided to jump around and let loose our inner teenagers while capturing the moment with the aforementioned Sigma lens.

Having owned the glasses for over a month now I can safely say that they have not let me down, or left my side for that matter.

It's actually quite rare to find a durable pair that you can safely rely on day in, day out. Make sure to check out their latest designs and see if any tickle your fancy

LCM 16 – Favourite Collections & Impressions // Photography Journal 31

London Collections isn't all about street style, in between the taxi rides and manic schedules there are intimately dispersed runway shows and collections on offer so here are some that caught my eye:

London Collections Men 2016

A whirlwind few days, LCM has left me physically and emotionally drained and yet I would not have changed it for the world. Getting some of my shots published in Fucking Young magazine was a personal highlight but meeting up with some old friends and overindulging on alcohol will never go out of fashion.

Diego Barrueco, Joey London, Gallucks, Infashionity and everyone else (you know who you are!) who made this weekend so memorable - I salute you!

LCM 16 Day 2 – London Collections Men Street Style // Photography Journal 30

I can't believe that it's been over a week since LCM (London Collections: Men) has finished and I'm only just starting to sift through the photos. Day 2 for me was much busier as I decided to do street style on Day 1 and visit a few shows on Day 2 but alas it's impossible to ignore the amazing outfits everyone had on display. Have a look through some of my favourite photos and let me know what you think in the comment box below:

Bailey Nelson London // Lookbook 23

Happy 2016 everyone! January in London means the start of fashion season so in-between my work with UnsignedGRP and running around LCM taking street style shots for Fucking Young Mag, I managed to take some OOTD shots with my boy Joey London using his new camera. I gotta say the Sigma lens is a work of art, perfect for action snaps and the quality of the images is simply pristine. Watch this space 🙂

PRINCELET STREET

The location for the shoot was Princelet Street, one of the oldest streets in London. It actually makes you feel like you're walking through a piece of history with townhouses dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. As a lover of architecture you can't help but look up and admire the diversity of it all.

ootd princelet street shoreditch bailey nelson-52

The Museum of Immigration (a Grade II listed building) is also located on Princelet Street and tells the story of Jewish immigrants who fled persecution back home in France and, like many different nationalities to follow them, settled as immigrants in Spitalfields.

Since my eyesight is slowly catching up to all those late nights reading sci-fi books, Bailey Nelson were the first point of call for a new pair of specs. With stores all over London and a complementary eye test, Bailey Nelson were great at guiding me through their process and within a few days I received a text message telling me that my new glasses were ready to collect.

I paired up the glasses with my trusty Zara trenchie which I haven't had a chance to wear since my trip to Venice, some new kicks from Converse and a jumper from the new kid on the scene - Old Harry Knitwear. The jumper kept me warm and cosy as the weather in London at the moment is unfriendly to say the least and it's classic look and feel is something that many high street brands will find hard to replicate.

[separator type="thin"]

[/column]
[/columns_row]

In terms of accessories my trusty Marshall Headphones are still doing their job a year down the line and the backpack from Moleskine is as nice to touch as it is to look at. It's also designed specifically for digital devices so if like me you like to carry your cameras and laptops everywhere this purchase should be a no brainer. The sleek Ice City Leyton watch was ordered from Ice Watch and did not let me down once during LCM. It's neat brown design was a perfect accompaniment to the entire outfit.

LCM 16 Day – London Collections Men Street Style // Photography Journal 29

LCM (London Collections: Men) is upon us yet again and after being a total recluse last year I was determined not to repeat the same mistake. Fucking Young magazine asked me to take a couple of street style shots during the weekend and having recently taken delivery of a Canon 7D, LCM was going to be my trial by fire.

Here's a selection of my favourite shots from Day 1 and make sure to visit Fucking Young Magazine for the full set and some models off duty shots.

PlusMinus Magazine Shoot // Lookbook 22

It's hard to keep up with all the goings on in the fashion industry but one thing that may have caught your eye is the steady rise of mens fashion blogging. This site is a small testament to that but there are hundreds of us who want to make their voices heard.

This is why Jodie from alajode organised a small interview and photoshoot for her new magazine PlusMinus a few months back. I was joined by Adam from Male Stylist and Benji from 21st Century Gent (the old Style Collective) for a small shoot near Liverpool St. The photography was done by the supremely talented Sarah Anne Choa.

Mens blogging is more than just fashion although when living in a large metropolis such as London it's a huge part of every day life. A blog can be anything you want it to be and should reflect your own personality, once you get over that initial writing speedbump it no longer feels like work.

Make sure to read the full interview in PlusMinus Magazine as it might give you a better view of my thoughts on this ever growing trend.

Guys of London Fashion Week 2015 // Photography Journal 27

It's not all about the girls at London Fashion Week (although lets face it, it kinda is) so here are a couple of my favourite mens street style from LFW 2015. I'm hoping to have a new camera by the time London Collections: Men rolls around so if you're coming make sure to give me a buzz, I'm always looking to sharper up my photography game.

The 'Listen While You Read' feature above is a little experiment I'm keen to run to see if my readers want a bit of background music while reading the lengthier articles. I aim to stick with some slower electronic and downtempo sounds as they're not too distracting and actually help you focus. If you think this is a neat feature make sure to give that 'Like' button a press.

A Stroll Through Leeds with River Island // Lookbook 21

It's that time of the year again and winter is coming which means I have to brave the cold and venture up to friendly Yorkshire in the north of England. Saying that, I couldn't think of a better setting to grab a few shots for a small River Island Christmas campaign featuring fellow bloggers 21st Century Gent, Jordan Bunker and Q Mike.

kings cross St Pancras International

As usual the day starts off at Kings Cross station and if you ignore the busloads of French teenagers taking selfies at Harry Potter corner it's a gorgeous building in it's own right having been redeveloped by John McAslan + Partners in time for the London 2012 Olympics.

The Booking Office is my usual port of call before a train journey. Salmon over scrambled eggs is never too heavy on the stomach and a cheeky Bloody Mary cocktail is sure to perk you up better than any coffee ever could.

It's also minutes away from your departure platform so why not give it a visit?

Upon arriving in Leeds I'm immediately transported to 2012 when I was just a young and naive graduate wandering the streets in the hope of finding a job. Fortunately this isn't the case anymore but it was still mighty interesting to see the city where I spent so many years grow and modernise, yet retain that indescribable northern charm that made it special.

I was joined by Emily from Emtalks as we explored Victoria Quarter and the city centre without worry or obligation whilst sharpening our photography skills and making use of the historical backdrops that were available to us.

To get in the Christmas spirit River Island were kind enough to send me a few early presents of the wearable variety and seeing as I'm a sucker for a mac they hit the look right on the money. The dark green military mac coat accompanied me every day during my northern adventure and it's lightweight nature made it perfect for the wind and drizzle I encountered.

Leeds Architecture

I'm always fascinated by architecture and how a certain style can shape the look of a city or even transport you back to a certain time period. For example, the Leeds Civic Hall (above) was the result of a competition held in 1926 and only took 2 years to complete which is astounding considering the time during which it was built.

The mac also proved easy to style as the colours of my dark green colour block roll neck jumper and black lined nubuck leather desert boots perfectly matched it's dark green (almost army like) tones. The dark colours also ensured the outfit wasn't too ostentatious as it's important to feel comfortable in whatever you're wearing rather than feeling self conscious in something you didn't want to wear in the first place.

Autumn in London with John Lewis // Lookbook 20

If I'm being completely honest with myself I feel that autumn has got to be the perfect season. Summer has got its moments with carefree bike rides and cider induced adventures yet only in autumn can you see some of your favourite areas transform from vivid greens to claret reds before your very eyes. And don't forget the festivities, from Halloween to Bonfire Night and early Christmas markets that conjure up their own unique atmosphere. Sometimes I feel that autumn is a little unappreciated.

On the day I was joined by JK from Unimited by JK as we went for a morning stroll through the Household of Cavalry Museum, the adjacent St James's Park, Victoria Memorial and Buckingham Palace. The park itself was fully transformed from the last time I paid it a visit as now the floor was covered in crunchy orange leaves signalling the arrival of the inevitable cold weather.

THE DETAILS

Speaking of cold weather, I was born in Ukraine so personally don't have much of a problem with it and as a blogger it allows for much more robust outfit combinations and of course layers! For this outfit I went with a Claret Technical Mac by John Lewis, a Ted Baker jumper and shirt, trousers from Next and plimsolls from ASOS. If you excuse the randomness of the patterns I think the whole outfit has a pretty lightweight feel. Perfect for those breezy mornings.

The mac which I have worn religiously over the past few weeks deserves it's own mention. As it's crafted from a breathable fabric it's incredibly light and easy to style with whatever you might have in your wardrobe.

Alternatively, if you wish to go for the recent Jose Mourinho look the collar is made of sturdy leather which means it can be popped up and matched with numerous winter accessories from scarves to gloves and even bobbly hats.

Green PARKs

There's something about a good walk that just clears your head. Whether healthblog247.com/using-phentermine-weight-loss/ it's the fresh air, good company or a change of scenery I feel a walk can really get the creative juices flowing.

green park london vsco

St James's and Green Parks are perfect for this as you get a snapshot of what London is really about. You're enveloped by history as on one side

green park london vsco

you have the Cavalry Museum and the modern London Eye whilst a short stroll past the park lake takes you to Buckingham Palace and the Victoria Memorial

green park london vsco

A walk is also a great way to snap yourself out of context. It's easy to take things around you for granted and I do sometimes forget that people come to London

Victoria Memorial, London

[/column]
[column]

green park london vscocam

as part of their holidays. The next time you have a free morning why not explore a new part of your city, no more putting it off until the mood strikes you 🙂

green park london vscocam

Green Park was such a welcome surprise as the carpet of red and yellow transported you back to an almost childlike carefree state where a morning spent

green park london vscocam

kicking leaves didn't seem like a bad option. The history behind the park is anything but childlike as it was notoriously used as a duelling ground

green park london vsco

and a haunt of highwaymen and thieves. During the 18th and 19th centuries the park became a place for ballooning attempts and public firework displays. As part of the Queen Victoria Memorial construction numerous pieces of architecture were constructed to give the park character such as the Admiralty Arch and Canada Gate (above)

Girls of London Fashion Week 2015 // Photography Journal 26

Photography can be a cruel mistress as one day you are buzzing with excitement to go and explore new places and the next you're burdened by the ever present challenges of life. I feel that it's in these moments one should channel their frustrations into their work as finding ways to waste time will get tedious in and of itself. 80% of all work is actually working yourself up to do it, the other 20% is doing it which is why I've sat on these photos for so long, never satisfied with the final result or edit.

[separator type="thin"]

LFW 2015 Street Style

London Fashion Week 2015 was a hectic and surprising affair as instead of sticking to one task I ended up doing a bit of street photography, helping out some fellow bloggers with street shoots and attending a number of shows such a Hemyca, BCOLLIDE, Havva and Sadie Williams which put my brain and twitter fingers into overload. This is part 1 of a 2 part series so check back in the next few days for the guys edition 🙂

STYLEGRAM

The pictures don't do justice to the sheer hectic nature of the day and I almost felt like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz getting a behind the scenes look at how the whole business of fashion operates. Seeing through all the pizzazz and glamour allowed me to take the industry at face value and simply enjoy my day.

Photographing bloggers such as Lucy from LJLV and Hannah from Love Icon Fantasy Ego provided me with a much needed respite from the shows that although immaculately organised were strewn across London so you had to be picky with which shows were worth your time.

Keep an eye out for Part 2 of my LFW 2015 experience and if you see me at the next London Fashion Week or London Fashion Collections: Men don't be afraid to say hello 🙂
